Orix Buffaloes 2026 Home Opener

Buffaloes Back at the Dome vs. Eagles

The Orix Buffaloes open the 2026 season at home with a Friday night showdown against the Rakuten Golden Eagles, launching a full opening-weekend series at Kyocera Dome Osaka.

The Orix Buffaloes begin their 2026 home campaign on Friday, March 27, welcoming the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles to Kyocera Dome Osaka for a season-opening night game. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm, marking the official return of professional baseball to Osaka’s domed ballpark.

The home opener is part of a three-game opening series running March 27 through March 29, giving fans multiple chances to experience the early-season atmosphere. Opening night traditionally features pregame ceremonies, player introductions, and a packed dome filled with Buffaloes supporters.

Buffaloes–Eagles matchups have grown increasingly competitive in recent seasons, with both clubs regularly contending for playoff positions in the Pacific League. The opening series offers an early test as lineups, rotations, and new signings are unveiled.

Kyocera Dome Osaka provides a weather-proof, centrally located venue, making the home opener an easy addition to spring travel plans and an accessible introduction to Japanese baseball culture.

Opening Night at the Dome — The Buffaloes launch their home season under the lights.
Eagles as Opening Opponent — Rakuten visits Osaka for the first test of the season.
Friday Night First Pitch — A 6:00 pm start draws after-work crowds.
Three-Game Opening Series — Fans can attend opening night or the weekend games.
Comfortable Indoor Baseball — A domed stadium regardless of weather.
