UVERworld Gets Dangerous in Osaka

Rock, Saxophone, and a Setlist Full of Surprises

UVERworld brings its LIVE "Abunai" TOUR 2026 to Osaka-jō Hall for two nights, blending hard-driving rock, saxophone, and electronic music with an unpredictable setlist.

Japanese rock band UVERworld arrives at Osaka-jō Hall on December 1 and 2 with a tour that keeps even longtime fans guessing. The six-member group’s LIVE “Abunai” (危ない) TOUR 2026—roughly translated as “Dangerous”—has already featured dramatically different song selections from one concert to the next, drawing on more than two decades of music.

The sound is equally unpredictable. UVERworld combines driving guitars and explosive drums with electronic textures, hip-hop influences, and something less common in Japanese arena rock: a saxophone. Played by sixth member SEIKA, the instrument adds another dimension to a band already known for shifting between musical styles.

At the center is vocalist TAKUYA∞, whose commanding delivery and connection with audiences have helped make UVERworld one of Japan’s most enduring live acts. The band’s concerts are built around the interplay of six musicians and an audience that knows the music intimately.

Recent performances suggest that fans attending both Osaka concerts could encounter different selections from the group’s extensive catalog. September shows in Yokohama and a November concert in Wakayama featured substantially different setlists, ranging from early favorites to newer material. The Osaka selections have not been announced.

UVERworld formed in Shiga Prefecture in 2000 and made its major-label debut five years later with “D-tecnoLife,” the opening theme for the anime Bleach. Other anime connections followed, but the band’s popularity soon extended far beyond television soundtracks.

Major milestones included a Tokyo Dome concert in 2010 and a 2014 performance at Kyocera Dome Osaka attended by approximately 40,000 fans. The group celebrated its twentieth major-label anniversary in 2025 while continuing to release new music, including the 2026 single “EVER.”

Now UVERworld returns to Osaka with a tour that embraces the breadth of its musical history. For longtime followers, the changing setlists offer fresh possibilities. For newcomers, these two nights provide an introduction to a band that has spent twenty years challenging the boundaries of Japanese rock.
