Takaishi Super Fireworks

25,000 Bursts in 46 Minutes

A beloved seaside tradition returns on a spectacular new scale, with 25,000 fireworks planned for a breathtaking 46-minute display above Osaka’s waterfront.

Twenty-five thousand fireworks. Forty-six minutes. One extraordinary evening on Osaka’s waterfront. On October 24, 2026, the inaugural Takaishi Super Fireworks transforms the skies above Hamadera Park into a spectacular display of color, light and sound. Beginning at precisely 18:09, the show promises an unusually concentrated barrage of fireworks launched from barges in the Hamadera Canal, with spectators watching from ticketed viewing areas along the shore.

The spectacle marks a new chapter in Takaishi’s seaside festival tradition. Since 2013, the city’s Seaside Festival has brought residents together for community entertainment and fireworks. But growing crowds and the increasing demands of security and crowd management prompted a change. On October 24, the city will hold the final edition of its traditional Seaside Festival, while a private organizing committee launches Takaishi Super Fireworks on the same day. The fireworks aren’t disappearing—they’re getting a spectacular new beginning.

The numbers tell part of the story. Organizers plan to launch approximately 25,000 fireworks in just 46 minutes, an average of more than nine bursts per second. It’s an ambitious debut, and the committee has already outlined plans to expand the display in future years, with a goal of reaching 45,000 fireworks by 2032. Those future editions remain proposals, but the scale of the first event signals the organizers’ intentions.

The new Takaishi Super Fireworks experience begins well before nightfall. Food trucks, street performers and other entertainment bring a lively festival atmosphere to the waterfront as ticket holders arrive throughout the afternoon. Unlike the traditional seaside festival, however, the fireworks event is entirely ticketed, with no free viewing areas. Admission starts at ¥5,000, with options ranging from standard seats and riverside terraces to lantern-lit picnic spaces for groups of up to ten. Organizers also prohibit viewing from surrounding areas and the opposite shore, making advance ticket arrangements essential.

But the most unusual offering is the VIP Ground, where groups can drive directly into private viewing spaces, enjoy an afternoon barbecue and watch the fireworks beside their cars. Think of it as a drive-in movie theater, only the screen is the night sky and the spectacle is live.

Then, as darkness settles over the canal, attention turns to the launch barges. For 46 minutes, the organizers aim to fill the autumn sky with an almost continuous succession of fireworks. Takaishi Super Fireworks may be a new name on Osaka’s event calendar, but its roots run deep—and its ambitions are anything but modest.

THE EXPERIENCE

Takaishi Super Fireworks combines an ambitious waterfront fireworks display with an afternoon of food, entertainment and outdoor gatherings. The experience varies considerably depending on your ticket, from individual seats to private group areas with barbecue facilities.

  • Front-Row Fireworks: Riverside A, S and SS sections occupy the stepped embankment beside the Hamadera Canal, directly facing the launch area. SS offers the most central position, while S and A provide slightly different viewing angles.
  • Standard & Relaxed Seating: Standard ticket holders receive folding chairs, while Relax Seat guests have outdoor-style reclining chairs. Both areas are located in Hamadera Park’s First Baseball Field, away from the waterfront embankment.
  • Picnic-Style Viewing: Platinum Picnic Boxes accommodate groups of up to 10 people in designated sections of the park’s Second Baseball Field. These spaces are designed for groups who want to spend the afternoon together before the fireworks.
  • Private VIP Areas: Premium group packages provide dedicated outdoor spaces, with some allowing vehicles to enter the viewing area. Depending on the package, barbecue equipment or food tickets are included, along with tables and chairs.
  • Food & Entertainment: Food trucks and street performers are planned during the afternoon, creating a festival atmosphere before the evening display. The organizer has not announced a complete vendor or performer lineup.
  • A Waterfront Setting: The fireworks launch from barges in the Hamadera Canal, with viewing areas arranged at different distances and angles. The organizer plans approximately 25,000 fireworks over 46 minutes, beginning at 18:09.

With everything from individual seating to private group gatherings, Takaishi Super Fireworks offers several ways to experience its inaugural display. Visitors should choose their viewing area carefully, as seating arrangements, accessibility and facilities differ significantly between sections.

INFO & TIPS

Arriving: Use Nankai Hagoromo Station and follow the designated pedestrian route. Allow extra time for crowds, security checks and event-day diversions. Entry times vary by ticket category, so check your ticket before traveling.

Weather & Clothing: The event proceeds in light rain but may be canceled in severe weather. October evenings can be chilly along the waterfront, so bring a warm jacket and wear comfortable walking shoes. Check the official website for weather announcements before departure.

Food & Drinks: Visitors may bring their own food and beverages. Food trucks will also operate at the venue. Please take your rubbish home.

Viewing Restrictions: All official fireworks viewing areas require paid admission. The organizer states that viewing from surrounding areas and the opposite shore is not permitted. Road closures and pedestrian restrictions will be in effect, so follow official signs and security instructions.

Accessibility: Viewing conditions vary significantly by ticket category. Riverside A, S and SS are located on embankment steps and are not wheelchair accessible. The organizer recommends the Platinum Areas for wheelchair users because accessible toilets are nearby and remain reachable during the fireworks. Accessible toilets are farther from Standard and Relax seating, where movement outside the viewing area is restricted during the display.

Official Accessibility Information: https://cho-hanabi.com/notes/

Toilets: Temporary toilets will be provided. Toilet access and accessibility vary by viewing area. Visitors should locate the nearest facilities before the fireworks begin.

Photography: Personal photography is permitted, but tripod rules vary by seating category. Drones are prohibited throughout the venue and surrounding area.

Pets: Pets are permitted only in designated VIP areas. They are not allowed in the ordinary paid viewing sections.

Smoking: Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas.

Fireworks Debris: Paper fragments and spent fireworks material may fall into parts of the venue. The organizer warns that debris could land on clothing, belongings or vehicles.

Cancellations: The event has no postponement date. Qualifying cancellations before the fireworks begin are eligible for refunds under the organizer’s published conditions. Refunds are generally unavailable if the show begins but is subsequently interrupted. See TICKETS for details.
