Amemura Halloween
Costumes spill through the streets around Triangle Park while Amemura’s clubs and live houses take Halloween indoors, creating a night that moves effortlessly between spontaneous street spectacle and Osaka nightlife.
There is no perfect Amemura Halloween itinerary. On October 31, head to Triangle Park after dark. Wear something outrageous if the mood strikes you. Then follow the costumes, the music and the crowd. On Halloween night, getting a little lost in Amemura is part of the plan.
Halloween fits Amemura almost too well. Osaka’s center of street fashion, music and youth culture already celebrates the unconventional every other night of the year; on October 31, costumes simply push everything a little further. Around Mitsu Park (Sankaku Triangle Park) and the surrounding streets, monsters, anime characters, horror creations and costumes invented mainly for laughs mix with people who have come simply to watch what turns up.
There is no organizer directing the action outside. No parade begins, no gates open and nobody announces that Amemura Halloween has started. People arrive, costumes attract cameras, groups find each other around Triangle Park and the gathering builds organically. That looseness gives the street side of Halloween here its character: raw, playful and unmistakably at home in a neighborhood that has spent decades making room for people who want to look, dress and sound different.
But Amemura has another ingredient that separates it from the enormous Halloween spectacle a few blocks away in Dōtonbori. The neighborhood’s clubs and live houses join in. Halloween programming can begin before October 31 and continue deep into Halloween night, allowing an evening that starts outside around Triangle Park to move naturally into live music, DJs and late-night parties behind the surrounding doors.
The pattern was especially clear in 2025. Shinsaibashi Sunhall staged SUNHALL de HALLOWEEN on October 31, followed by SOUNDJAM² HALLOWEEN NIGHT from midnight until 5:00 a.m. Costumed guests received discounted admission to the late-night party, with particularly creative costumes rewarded with drink tickets. Nearby DROPprogrammed Amemura HALLOWEEN NIGHT during the preceding weekend and another Halloween-themed event during the final week of October. Elsewhere in Amemura, a separately organized international Halloween party at JOULE actually invited participants to head to Triangle Park afterward—an unusually clear example of the indoor and outdoor celebrations feeding into one another.
The neighborhood’s compact scale makes wandering part of the fun. Triangle Park sits amid vintage stores, bars, live houses and clubs, with Shinsaibashi on one side and Dōtonbori only a short walk away. You can spend an hour people-watching, disappear inside for music or drinks, return to the street, or continue toward Dōtonbori and see how dramatically the Halloween atmosphere changes within a few blocks.
And it is different. Dōtonbori delivers the huge public spectacle: immense crowds converging around Ebisubashi and the canal. Amemura feels closer to the culture that already lives here.

There is no official schedule for the street gathering. Amemura Halloween develops organically around Triangle Park and the surrounding streets, while clubs and live houses operate their own independently scheduled events.
After Dark — Costumed visitors begin gathering around Mitsu Park (Triangle Park) and throughout Amerikamura. Come in costume or simply explore and watch the scene develop.
Evening — The streets around Triangle Park become the center of the spontaneous Halloween gathering. Costumed groups pose for photos, people circulate through Amemura and nearby bars, restaurants and entertainment venues begin filling for the night.
Late Night — Amemura’s club and live-house scene increasingly becomes part of Halloween. Individual venues may offer DJs, live performances, costume discounts or dedicated Halloween parties, with some events continuing into the early morning.

Street Gathering: Free
There is no admission charge for Amemura Halloween itself. The gathering around Triangle Park and the surrounding streets is spontaneous and has no organizer, entrance gate or ticket system.
Clubs & Live Houses
Individual venues operate independently and may charge admission for their Halloween parties, DJ nights or live performances. Prices, advance-ticket requirements and drink charges vary by event.
For example, Halloween programming at SUNHALL in 2025 included separate admission for its evening and late-night events, with the midnight party offering discounted entry for guests in costume.
2026 Tickets
Halloween-night programming is still being announced, so there is no single 2026 Halloween ticket to buy. Purchase tickets directly from the venue or event organizer for any indoor event you decide to attend.
One nearby Halloween-themed event already confirmed is SUNHALL’s Gekitotsu!! Tako Tako King Vol.5 Halloween Special on October 28, with advance tickets at ¥4,500 and same-day tickets at ¥5,000, plus a separate drink charge.
THE EXPERIENCE
Amemura Halloween feels less like an organized festival and more like Halloween taking over a neighborhood that already lives on street fashion, music and nightlife. Costumed groups gather around Triangle Park while spectators, clubgoers and curious visitors circulate through the surrounding streets.
- Costumes Everywhere: Expect anime and game characters, horror makeup, pop-culture references, group costumes and outfits created mainly to make people laugh.
- People Are the Show: There is no central stage or parade. Walking the streets, watching the costumes and stopping for photos is the entertainment.
- Come as You Are: Costumes are completely optional. Dress normally and people-watch, or wear something outrageous and become part of the spectacle.
- Street + Nightlife: The outdoor gathering is spontaneous and free, while Amemura’s clubs and live houses add organized DJ nights, live music and Halloween parties.
- Two Halloweens Within Walking Distance: Dōtonbori delivers the enormous public spectacle around Ebisubashi and the canal; Amemura offers a more intimate mix of street culture, fashion, music and nightlife.
You can spend the entire evening wandering Amemura without entering a venue, build the night around a particular club or live show, or move between the streets and nightlife as the evening develops. There isn’t one correct way to experience Amemura Halloween—and that’s rather the point.

Start at Triangle Park
Don’t wait for an official start time—there isn’t one. Head to Mitsu Park (Triangle Park) after dark and use it as your starting point. Costumed crowds gather around the park and surrounding Amerikamura streets, so wander rather than waiting for something specific to happen.
Street First, Club Later
You don’t need to commit to a club or live-house event to experience Amemura Halloween. Explore Triangle Park and the streets for free first, then use a ticketed party, DJ night or live show as an optional second half of your night.That street-to-nightlife progression is one of the things that makes Halloween here distinctive.
Check Club Schedules Before You Go
Unlike the street gathering, indoor Halloween events have actual schedules, admission prices and sometimes advance tickets. Check the venue’s official site or social media before heading out. Halloween programming often appears relatively close to the date, so options may continue to be announced throughout October.
Costumes Are Optional
Dress up if you want to become part of the spectacle, but you certainly don’t have to. Plenty of people come to watch, photograph costumes, meet friends or simply experience Amemura on Halloween night.
Ask Before Taking Portraits
Wide photographs of the overall street scene are one thing; making an individual stranger the subject of your photograph is another. Ask before taking close-up or posed photos of costumed revelers.
Expect Crowds
Triangle Park is compact, and the surrounding streets can become congested as Halloween crowds build. Keep entrances and pedestrian routes clear, follow any directions from police or security staff and don’t stop in the middle of a busy walkway for photographs.
Don’t Stay in One Spot
Triangle Park is the natural starting point, not the whole experience. Explore the surrounding streets, vintage-shopping area and nightlife district. Shinsaibashi and Dōtonbori are also within walking distance if you want to experience a very different Halloween atmosphere later in the night.
Amemura or Dōtonbori?
You don’t necessarily have to choose. Amemura is the better fit for street culture, costumes, clubs and live music; Dōtonbori delivers the enormous public spectacle around Ebisubashi and the canal. They’re close enough to experience both in one night.
Saturday Night in 2026
Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31 this year. That doesn’t allow us to predict crowd size, but it makes checking club and live-house schedules particularly worthwhile as October approaches.
