A Big Family Festival in Tsurumi
Dinosaurs racing across the lawn, food along the paths and activities everywhere you turn—Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa returns for one of Osaka’s most playful family weekends.
Imagine taking the kids to the park and discovering dinosaurs racing across the lawn, pony encounters, games, sports, inflatable attractions and plenty of food along the way. Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa returns October 31 and November 1, 2026, turning one of Osaka’s biggest parks into a family playground from 10:00–16:00 each day. Exhibitor booths, stage events, sports experiences, Fuwafuwa Kids Land, pony interactions, food booths, kitchen cars and a marché are all planned across the park.
One of Festa’s biggest attractions is the sheer variety of activities spread across the park. Families can move between hands-on experiences, games, performances and outdoor activities, with something different waiting around almost every corner. The festival’s playful atmosphere makes it easy to spend an entire day exploring, whether the children are racing toward the next attraction or the adults are simply enjoying a leisurely autumn afternoon.
One attraction that definitely is returning is considerably closer to the ground. The Tyrannosaurus Race is back for its second year, sending children and adults in inflatable dinosaur costumes sprinting across the Great Lawn on both days. This year’s races are officially sanctioned, while the new Tyranno Collection gives the dinosaurs a stage for posing and performing. And eventually, something will smell good. Around 39 kitchen cars and food vendors are planned each day, alongside a marché. The individual menus have not yet been announced, but last year’s Kusunoki-dori lineup ranged from takoyaki and Taiwanese rice dishes to burgers, curry, crepes and local craft beer. There should be little reason to leave the park for lunch.
Tsurumi Ryokuchi hosted the International Garden and Greenery Exposition in 1990, leaving behind huge lawns, gardens, international landscapes and unusual architecture—and Festa weekend makes particularly good use of all that space.
Several additional family attractions are planned alongside Festa, turning different corners of the park into destinations of their own. Hanaranman 2026 brings community flower displays and greenery activities to Central Avenue, while Wakuwaku Ikimono World offers hands-on encounters with living creatures near the Central Entrance Plaza. Dinosaur Adventure Tour and the Autumn Satoyama Exhibition add more discoveries near Sakuya Konohana Kan, the park’s enormous glass conservatory housing around 5,500 plant species from around the world. Wakuwaku Ikimono World continues through November 3, two days beyond the main festival.
That’s the charm of this weekend. There is no need to march the family through an itinerary. Follow the sound of a performance, stop when the kids spot something fun, grab lunch from a kitchen car, watch inflatable dinosaurs thunder across the grass and keep exploring. And if the balloons return, remember to look up.

Trains:
JR Osaka Loop Line → Kyobashi ↔ Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line → Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station → park immediately outside the station.
Subways:
Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line → Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station (N26) → park immediately outside the station.
From Shinsaibashi, the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line runs directly to Tsurumi-ryokuchi with no transfer.
By Car:
Tsurumi Ryokuchi has several on-site parking areas. From central Osaka, the park recommends entering Hanahaku-dori from the Inner Ring Road for Central Parking No. 2. Drivers using the Hanshin Expressway can exit at Morishoji and continue via Route 163. From other directions, Kadoma IC, Daito-Tsurumi IC and Daini-Keihan Kadoma IC provide access depending on the route. Normal parking charges apply.
With around 60,000 visitors expected over Festa weekend, arriving early is the safer choice if driving.

ADMISSIONS
Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa is free to enjoy, including the general festival areas, exhibitor booths, stage events and many family activities. Some special attractions and experiences require advance registration and/or an additional fee.
Food & Drinks: Food booths, kitchen cars and the marché are pay as you go, with prices set by individual vendors.

Hot-Air Balloon: Not yet confirmed for 2026. In 2025, tethered balloon rides cost ¥4,000 per person and required advance reservations.
Hanaranman 2026: Free admission. Some workshops or activities may have separate participation requirements.
Dinosaur Adventure Tour: Separate admission or participation fees have not yet been confirmed for the 2026 edition.
Wakuwaku Ikimono World: Paid admission. The most recent 2026 edition charged ¥700, with children age 1 and younger free; animal feeding was an additional ¥100. Festa-weekend pricing has not yet been announced.
Sakuya Konohana Kan: The botanical conservatory requires separate admission. Adults ¥500; junior-high-school students and younger free.

Weather & Cancellations
Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa 2026 is scheduled to proceed in light rain, but severe weather may cause cancellation or changes to individual outdoor activities. Check the park’s official announcements before traveling.
Getting Around
Activities are spread across several areas of Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park, including the Central Entrance, Central Avenue, Great Lawn and Sakuya Konohana Kan. Allow time to walk between attractions, particularly if visiting with young children.
Food & Refreshments
Food stalls and kitchen cars are part of the festival program. Bring cash for smaller purchases, as payment methods may vary between vendors. The park also has cafés and places to take a break.
Paid Attractions
Admission to the main festival is free, but some experiences require separate fees. Check individual attraction information before visiting, particularly for Wakuwaku Ikimono World and Dinosaur Adventure Tour.
T-Rex Race
The popular dinosaur races take place during the festival weekend. Spectators can watch for free, while participation requires registration and a separate fee. Check the official race information for registration requirements and availability.
Past Festa Highlights
Tethered hot-air balloon flights were offered during the 2024 and 2025 editions. Flights have not been announced for 2026, so visitors should not plan around this attraction.
Flower Displays Beyond Festa
Hanaranman’s community flowerbeds remain on display through November 16, 2026, even after the main festival concludes.
Accessibility
Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park has paved paths and accessible facilities, although some grassy areas and outdoor activity locations may be less convenient for wheelchairs or strollers. Check the park’s official accessibility information when planning your visit.
