Made in Sakai Fair
Discover Sakai’s Heart. From handmade crafts and gourmet treats to workshops and live demonstrations, Sakai’s annual fair is a free, family-friendly celebration of local culture.

The Made in Sakai Fair is no newcomer. Now a fixture on the city’s cultural calendar, it has been held for years as a way to showcase the craftsmanship, food, and community spirit that define Sakai. On November 9–10, 2025, the Sakai City Industrial Promotion Center will once again open its doors for two full days of free festivities, inviting residents and visitors alike to experience the city’s creative side. This continuity has made the fair a “beloved event” for locals, while giving inbound travelers a rare chance to see Sakai’s heritage in action.
Inside the event hall, the atmosphere is part market, part neighborhood gathering. The Sakai Goods Market fills aisles with products made by local artisans—woodwork, textiles, stationery, and more—while the Sakai Sweets Festa tempts with colorful wagashi, creamy puddings, and inventive confections that have made Sakai’s patisseries a destination in their own right. Food lovers can head to the Sakai Gourmet Plaza, where beef bowls, seafood-topped rice, and other local favorites showcase the flavors of the region. Families will find plenty to do beyond browsing, thanks to hands-on workshops that let you try everything from lace-making to dyeing your own tenugui towel or assembling a wooden plate.
It wouldn’t be Sakai without tradition, and the fair delivers with live knife-sharpening demonstrations that connect the city’s centuries-old blade-making culture to daily life. Add in a lively stamp rally, fire and police vehicle displays, and community booths, and you have a festival that balances heritage with family-friendly fun. With its bayside location just minutes on foot from Nakamozu Station, the Made in Sakai Fair is a convenient and rewarding stop—especially for those looking to explore beyond central Osaka.
