Osaka Sake Square 2025

Two Days of Great Drinks, Food and Music

Sip and savor over 80 varieties of sake from 27 Kansai breweries in the fresh air of Ōgimachi Park.

OSAKA SAKE SQUARE returns in 2025 with renewed energy—shifting venues to the lush open space of Ougimachi Park. Since 2023, the event has aimed to energize Kansai’s sake culture. This year, 27 breweries representing the rich regional heritage of Kansai (Osaka, Kyoto, Shiga, Nara, Hyogo, and Wakayama) gather under autumn skies to offer over 80 unique sake varietals, blending tradition, innovation, and the communal spirit of “the nation’s kitchen,” Osaka

Ōgimachi Park in central Osaka transforms into a lively open-air venue for OSAKA SAKE SQUARE 2025. The park’s wide lawns and shaded walkways give visitors room to wander between booths while still feeling connected to the city. This year’s move to Ōgimachi brings more space, fresh air, and an easygoing atmosphere that’s perfect for a weekend of tasting and socializing.

Twenty-seven breweries from Osaka, Kyoto, Hyōgo, Shiga, Nara, and Wakayama will present more than 80 varieties of sake. Each brewery offers its own specialties, from clean, dry junmai to rich, aromatic ginjo and smooth, slightly sweet nigori. Using the event’s coin system, you can sample as much or as little as you like, comparing styles and discovering new favorites at your own pace.

A DJ booth provides background music throughout the day, giving the event a casual, festival-like atmosphere without overpowering conversation. Friends gather around standing tables or sit on the grass with their tasting cups, chatting with brewers or sharing recommendations with nearby visitors. It’s an easy space to meet new people or simply enjoy the company you came with.

Food stalls are set up around the park offering snacks and small dishes designed to pair well with sake. Light bites, warm grilled items, and regional specialties help bring out different flavors in the drinks. Many guests choose to spend hours here—alternating between tastings, food, and relaxing in the park.

As the afternoon turns to early evening, the lighting softens and the pace slows. The final call for orders comes at 6:30 PM on Saturday and 6:00 PM on Sunday. Visitors often leave carrying souvenirs from the onsite shop, along with a better understanding of Kansai’s sake traditions. For many, it’s a chance not just to taste but to connect with the culture behind each bottle.

27 participating breweries from six prefectures with 81 distinct sake brands

Sampling booth, food & snack stalls, souvenir shop, and a DJ booth offering music, to pair with seated or stand-up tasting vibes

Live music and stage announcements bring additional energy to the festivities
