LOCO★MARKET Goes to the Dogs

Hamadera Park’s Recurring Food, Fun and Family Festival

Dogs join the fun at Hamadera Park as LOCO★MARKET combines pet-friendly shopping and services with food, workshops and family activities at its DOG LABO edition.

A poster for PARK LABO, October 2026's LOCO MARKET festival in Sakai

Dogs get their own corner of Hamadera Park this October as LOCO★MARKET returns with PARK LABO, a neighborhood-scale park market mixing food, shopping, workshops and family activities. The October 17–18 edition expands DOG LABO, an area created with local dog owners in mind, alongside a Kids Area and a modest collection of kitchen cars and independent vendors.

A photo illustration of a cute dog on the grass at a neighborhood festival The dog area goes beyond treats and accessories. Organizers have invited businesses offering services such as dog care and massage, grooming, training advice, photography, portraits and original goods, as well as pet-disaster-preparedness and rescue-related activities. The idea is to give people walking their dogs through the park somewhere to browse, discover services and stop for a while rather than creating a separate ticketed pet event.

Kids get a hook of their own on Saturday, October 17, when a bubble performer fills the park with oversized bubbles and follows the show with a hands-on bubble experience. Both days also bring food trucks, handmade goods, miscellaneous shopping and workshops to the Central Entrance area. Admission is free, with food, shopping and paid activities purchased individually.

DOG LABO is the latest variation on a market that rarely stays exactly the same. Earlier 2026 editions put children center stage, celebrated Tanabata and kept Hamadera Park open later for a Yoasobi edition with lights and handheld fireworks. Food, shopping, workshops and family activities provide the common thread, while changing themes give nearby families and regular park visitors something different to come back for.

That neighborhood character suits Hamadera Park, one of Osaka Prefecture’s long-established recreational parks. Its playgrounds, lawns and broad grounds make it an outing in its own right, particularly for families, while LOCO★MARKET adds food, browsing and activities along the way. For visitors coming from central Osaka, it makes the most sense as part of a day at Hamadera Park rather than as a large destination festival on its own.

NEXT UP: LOCO★MARKET returns November 22–23 with Vol.34, shifting back to its regular market format. Kitchen cars, handmade goods, workshops, shopping and experience booths, and kids’ play areas are already planned.

DOG LABO – Browse dog goods, services and activities created with local pet owners in mind.

More Than Treats – Discover grooming, training, massage, photography and pet-safety resources.

Bubble Saturday – Catch oversized bubbles and a hands-on bubble experience on October 17.

Food & Handmade Finds – Browse kitchen cars, independent makers, workshops and market stalls.

A Day in the Park – Combine the free market with playgrounds, lawns and time outdoors at Hamadera Park.
