A Big Family Festival in Tsurumi
Dinosaurs racing across the lawn, food along the paths and activities everywhere you turn—Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa returns for one of Osaka’s most playful family weekends.
Imagine taking the kids to the park and discovering dinosaurs racing across the lawn, pony encounters, games, sports, inflatable attractions and plenty of food along the way. Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa returns October 31 and November 1, 2026, turning one of Osaka’s biggest parks into a family playground from 10:00–16:00 each day. Exhibitor booths, stage events, sports experiences, Fuwafuwa Kids Land, pony interactions, food booths, kitchen cars and a marché are all planned across the park.
Then there is one attraction still worth watching for. Tethered hot-air balloon flights were highlights of both the 2024 and 2025 Festas, lifting passengers roughly 15–20 meters over Tsurumi Ryokuchi. Last year’s five-minute flights cost ¥4,000 per person and required advance reservations. The balloon has not been announced for 2026, so for now it remains part of the Festa’s recent history rather than this year’s confirmed program. Keep checking this space.
One attraction that definitely is returning is considerably closer to the ground. The Tyrannosaurus Race is back for its second year, sending children and adults in inflatable dinosaur costumes sprinting across the Great Lawn on both days. This year’s races are officially sanctioned, while the new Tyranno Collection gives the dinosaurs a stage for posing and performing. And eventually, something will smell good. Around 39 kitchen cars and food vendors are planned each day, alongside a marché. The individual menus have not yet been announced, but last year’s Kusunoki-dori lineup ranged from takoyaki and Taiwanese rice dishes to burgers, curry, crepes and local craft beer. There should be little reason to leave the park for lunch.
Tsurumi Ryokuchi hosted the International Garden and Greenery Exposition in 1990, leaving behind huge lawns, gardens, international landscapes and unusual architecture—and Festa weekend makes particularly good use of all that space.
Several additional family attractions are planned alongside Festa, including Hanaranman, celebrating the park’s flowers and greenery; Wakuwaku Ikimono World, where children can get close to and interact with animals; and Dinosaur Adventure Tour, filled with giant prehistoric creatures. Families can also explore Sakuya Konohana Kan, the park’s enormous glass conservatory housing around 5,500 species of plants from around the world. With organizers expecting around 60,000 visitors over the weekend, up from 50,000 in 2025, there is easily enough happening here to make a full day of it.
That’s the charm of this weekend. There is no need to march the family through an itinerary. Follow the sound of a performance, stop when the kids spot something fun, grab lunch from a kitchen car, watch inflatable dinosaurs thunder across the grass and keep exploring. And if the balloons return, remember to look up.

Trains:
JR Osaka Loop Line → Kyobashi ↔ Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line → Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station → park immediately outside the station.
Subways:
Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line → Tsurumi-ryokuchi Station (N26) → park immediately outside the station.
From Shinsaibashi, the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line runs directly to Tsurumi-ryokuchi with no transfer.
By Car:
Tsurumi Ryokuchi has several on-site parking areas. From central Osaka, the park recommends entering Hanahaku-dori from the Inner Ring Road for Central Parking No. 2. Drivers using the Hanshin Expressway can exit at Morishoji and continue via Route 163. From other directions, Kadoma IC, Daito-Tsurumi IC and Daini-Keihan Kadoma IC provide access depending on the route. Normal parking charges apply.
With around 60,000 visitors expected over Festa weekend, arriving early is the safer choice if driving.

Balloon Ride: Not yet announced for 2026. Tethered hot-air balloon rides operated from 8:30–12:30 each day in 2025, weather permitting. The balloon has appeared at both the 2024 and 2025 Festas, but its return should not be assumed until officially announced.
ADMISSIONS
Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa is free to enjoy, including the general festival areas, exhibitor booths, stage events and many family activities. Some special attractions and experiences require advance registration and/or an additional fee.
Food & Drinks: Food booths, kitchen cars and the marché are pay as you go, with prices set by individual vendors.

Hot-Air Balloon: Not yet confirmed for 2026. In 2025, tethered balloon rides cost ¥4,000 per person and required advance reservations.
Hanaranman / Dinosaur Adventure Tour: Any separate admission or participation fees for Festa weekend have not yet been announced.
Wakuwaku Ikimono World: Paid admission. The most recent 2026 edition charged ¥700, with children age 1 and younger free; animal feeding was an additional ¥100. Festa-weekend pricing has not yet been announced.
Sakuya Konohana Kan: The botanical conservatory requires separate admission. Adults ¥500; junior-high-school students and younger free.

Most of the Festa can be enjoyed for free, so families can spend the day exploring and then decide whether to add any of the separately charged or advance-registration experiences.

Make a Day of It
Tsurumi Ryokuchi Festa spreads across a very large park, with additional attractions planned for the same weekend. Allow several hours rather than treating this as a quick festival stop.

Wear Comfortable Shoes
Activities are spread across Tsurumi Ryokuchi rather than concentrated in one festival zone. Expect plenty of walking as you move between Festa activities, the Great Lawn and other attractions.
Balloon Watch
The tethered hot-air balloon has appeared at the last two Festas but has not yet been announced for 2026. If it returns, check reservation details early; flights are particularly sensitive to wind and weather.
Don’t Try to See Everything
The park’s broad lawns offer plenty of places to stop and take a break, especially with children. With Festa activities and separate attractions spread throughout the park, there is no need to build the day around seeing everything.
