THE MEAT OSAKA

Golden Week gets grilled

Osaka’s Golden Week heats up as THE MEAT OSAKA 2026 returns to Nagai Park’s Freedom Plaza for eight days of smoke, sizzling wagyu, craft beer pairings, and open‑air festival energy.

Golden Week in Osaka gets a savory centerpiece as THE MEAT OSAKA 2026 takes over Nagai Park’s Freedom Plaza from April 29 through May 6. Built around the concept “Meat connects people,” the event gathers grill masters, specialty vendors, and food creators for eight days of smoke, spice, and serious flavor.

Expect a wide range of meat-forward dishes — from thick-cut wagyu steaks and charcoal-grilled beef tongue to churrasco-style carved beef, roast beef bowls, meat sushi, and slow-smoked barbecue ribs. Past editions have also featured yakitori skewers, jumbo sausages, hamburg steaks, and crispy karaage, with open-fire grills and carving stations adding visual drama. Dedicated beverage booths have served draft beer, craft brews, lemon sours, highballs, and wine — turning each plate into a full Golden Week pairing experience.

This year’s staging marks the festival’s return to Osaka after a one-year hiatus. Following its last Nagai Park edition in 2024, THE MEAT OSAKA reclaims its Golden Week slot, bringing the city’s outdoor food scene back to full sizzle.

Set within the spacious grounds of Nagai Park, the event benefits from wide-open lawns and easy access, making it an ideal holiday outing for families, friend groups, and visiting tourists. With multiple vendors operating simultaneously, guests can build their own tasting experience — sampling small bites or committing to full, indulgent plates.

During Golden Week — one of Japan’s busiest travel periods — THE MEAT OSAKA becomes both a neighborhood gathering and a regional draw. As Osaka leans into outdoor event season, smoke rises above the park, lines form early, and the aroma alone pulls you in.

Eight Days of Sizzle — A full Golden Week run from April 29 to May 6.

Wagyu to World Grill — Steak, gyūtan, churrasco, ribs, and meat sushi in one place.

Craft Beer & Sours — Draft beer, craft brews, lemon sours, and highballs to pair.

Nagai Park Setting — Spacious Freedom Plaza with room to roam.

Returns After a Hiatus — Back in Osaka following its 2024 edition.
