YATAI Fes Returns to Osaka Castle

YATAI Fes is heading home. After moving to Tsurumi Ryokuchi in 2025, one of Osaka’s biggest food festivals returns to Osaka Castle Park, where it first began more than a decade ago. TV Osaka YATAI Fes! 2026 takes over Taiyo-no-Hiroba from September 18–23 for six days of eating, drinking and entertainment. Now in its 11th edition, the festival has welcomed more than 850,000 visitors since its 2015 debut, growing into one of TV Osaka’s signature autumn events.

Food is the main attraction, with vendors bringing dishes and specialties from across Japan to create a giant outdoor food hall. Previous editions have ranged from ramen, okonomiyaki and sizzling meat dishes to seafood, regional specialties, international flavors and elaborate desserts. Beer and other drinks are part of the experience, with Suntory Nama Beer returning as the festival’s title sponsor for 2026. The complete restaurant and menu lineup is still being assembled and will be added here when announced.

Admission is free, so visitors can wander the stalls and buy whatever catches their eye, then head back for another round. Most days run from 11:00 until 21:00, making the festival work equally well for lunch, an afternoon of grazing or dinner and drinks beneath the evening sky.

Eating is only half the fun. The main stage runs throughout the festival with live entertainment to enjoy between dishes. Past editions have mixed music and idol performances with guest appearances, talk shows and audience-participation events. The 2026 stage lineup is still under wraps, with TV Osaka promising a varied roster of performers and a full timetable to come.

There are games and activities offstage, too. TV Osaka is already teasing special programs including its audience-participation Super Karaoke Tournament and a Beyblade X experience, with additional 2026 activities still to be announced. These hands-on areas make YATAI Fes particularly easy to turn into a longer visit for families and groups who want more than a quick meal.

Its return to Taiyo-no-Hiroba also gives YATAI Fes one of Osaka’s best festival settings. The broad outdoor plaza sits inside Osaka Castle Park, allowing visitors to combine lunch at the festival with the castle grounds, museums and historic sites, then return for another round of food and evening entertainment. JR and Osaka Metro stations surround the park, making it easy to drop in for a few hours or build the festival into a full Osaka Castle day.

YATAI Fes began here at Osaka Castle Park in 2015 and has spent more than a decade expanding the idea of the traditional Japanese food-stall festival into something much larger. Restaurants and regional foods share the grounds with drinks, entertainment and activities, while free admission lets visitors decide whether to stay for an hour or settle in for the day.
