Walk Among 70,000 Sunflowers
Harvest Hill's annual sunflower season returns with approximately 70,000 blooms spread across rolling hillsides, inviting visitors to stroll through vibrant fields, capture unforgettable photos, and enjoy a relaxing summer escape just outside Osaka.
Just 40 minutes south of Namba in Sakai City, Sakai Green Museum: Harvest Hill transforms its 33-hectare agricultural park into one of Osaka’s brightest summer landscapes. From July 26 through August 23, approximately 70,000 sunflowers bloom across two rolling hillside fields, creating a spectacular seasonal display that has become an annual favorite for photographers, families, and anyone looking to escape the city. Harvest Hill welcomes nearly 380,000 visitors each year, with its seasonal flower displays among its biggest attractions.
More than just a sunflower field, Harvest Hill is a sprawling countryside park where seasonal gardens, farm animals, restaurants, playgrounds, and hands-on experiences create a memorable day trip for visitors of all ages. The sunflower season is part of the park’s annual Summer Harvest celebration, with seasonal food, family activities, water play, and other summer experiences taking place throughout the park. During sunflower season, guests can stroll directly into the blooming fields to capture immersive, Instagram-worthy photos surrounded by towering flowers, sweeping rural scenery, and endless shades of summer yellow.
Rather than blooming all at once, the two main sunflower fields flower in succession, extending the season across nearly a month. Sun Hill bursts into bloom first, followed by Moon Hill and Star Hill, giving visitors multiple opportunities to experience the display throughout August.
Whether you’re searching for the perfect summer photo, planning a family outing, or simply looking to slow down for a day, Harvest Hill’s annual sunflower season is a reminder that some of Osaka’s most memorable summer experiences begin just beyond the city skyline.
