Osaka’s End-of-Summer Treasure Hunt
Spend a late summer day searching for vintage treasures, unique bargains and unexpected discoveries at one of Kansai's largest outdoor flea markets.

As summer begins to fade, Expo ’70 Commemorative Park becomes one of Kansai’s largest outdoor treasure hunts. Hundreds of sellers gather beneath the park’s trees for a day of vintage fashion, nostalgic collectibles, secondhand bargains and unexpected discoveries, making the Expo Garage Sale one of Osaka’s favourite end-of-summer outings.
September brings two Expo Garage Sale events to Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, giving visitors multiple opportunities to experience one of Kansai’s largest outdoor flea markets. The next Expo Garage Sale takes place on 20 September 2026 at East Plaza inside Expo ’70 Commemorative Park. Approximately 500 sellers are expected to fill the venue with everything from vintage clothing, retro toys and vinyl records to antiques, books, home décor, furniture and everyday bargains. Held alongside the Vintage & Used Clothing Festival, the end-of-summer edition offers even more opportunities to browse retro fashion, unique finds and one-of-a-kind bargains while enjoying one of Kansai’s largest outdoor flea markets. The garage sale returns the following weekend on 27 September, shifting to the Festival Plaza area of Expo ’70 Commemorative Park for another day of treasure hunting and secondhand discoveries.
Every visit offers something different. One stall may feature carefully curated antiques while the next is filled with handmade crafts, vintage cameras, collectible toys or forgotten treasures waiting for a second life. Bargaining is part of the experience, and many visitors arrive hoping to uncover something they never expected to find.
More than just a flea market, the Expo Garage Sale is also an excuse to spend a relaxing day at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park. Wander between hundreds of stalls, enjoy the spacious park setting and take a break at one of the park’s cafés or restaurants before heading back for another round of treasure hunting. Some visitors leave with vintage finds, while others simply enjoy the excitement of never knowing what they’ll discover next.
Held regularly at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, the Expo Garage Sale has become one of Kansai’s best-loved outdoor flea markets, attracting collectors, bargain hunters, vintage enthusiasts and curious visitors alike. Every edition brings together returning sellers, first-time vendors and thousands of unique items, ensuring that no two visits are ever quite the same.
