Meet the makers at Mono Ichi, a recurring open-air market outside Suminodō Station where handmade goods, art, workshops, food and drinks fill Suehiro Park. In warmer months, Yoi Mono Ichi keeps the market going after dark.
Yoi Mono Ichi, the nighttime version of Daito’s recurring Mono Ichi makers market returns September 26. A handmade accessory catches your eye. A few stalls later, someone is running a workshop. There’s coffee nearby, something good coming from a food truck and a cold local beer waiting down the row. As evening falls, the lights come on. Dozens of independent creators, food vendors and small businesses gather at Suehiro Park from 16:00–21:00, turning the lawn immediately outside JR Suminodō Station into an evening market. Another Yoi Mono Ichi follows on October 10.
The things on sale are deliberately eclectic. Mono Ichi brings together handmade accessories, leather goods, flowers, fabric crafts and art, often sold by the people who made them. Workshops invite visitors to make something themselves, reflecting the market’s motto: “Treasures gathering in the local community.”
And come hungry. Food stalls and trucks have brought burgers, baked goods, churros, sweets and coffee to the park, alongside independent local producers and changing specialty vendors. Craft beer is part of the mix too, with Daito-area brewer Shukujitsu Bakushu (祝日麦酒) among the local names that have joined Mono Ichi. Grab something to eat and a cold beer, and the evening edition becomes an especially easygoing place to linger as the sun goes down.
That after-dark atmosphere is what turns Mono Ichi into Yoi Mono Ichi. The first night editions appeared in summer 2023, moving the regular daytime market into the cooler evening hours. First-hand reports describe a surprisingly large collection of stalls and food trucks filling the lawn, with busy vendors, workshops and visitors browsing until the lights change the character of the park after dark.
Mono Ichi itself has been growing in Daito since 2022, created as a place where independent makers could bring their work into the real world and meet the people buying it. The calendar changes throughout the year, along with the participating makers, food and, during the warmer season, even the time of day.
That local scale is part of the appeal. Browse something made by the person behind the table, try a workshop, grab something to eat and see what’s different this month.
And getting there is almost comically easy: step out of Suminodō Station and you’re there.
Come September 26, do it a little later. Find dinner and a beer, browse as the afternoon cools, and stick around long enough to see Mono Ichi become Yoi Mono Ichi after dark.

ACCESS
Venue: Suehiro Park — North Lawn
Address: 6-4 Suehirocho, Daito, Osaka 574-0036
Trains: JR Osaka Loop Line → Kyobashi ↔ JR Gakkentoshi Line → Suminodō Station → South Exit → immediately outside the station.
From Osaka/Umeda, take the Osaka Loop Line to Kyobashi and transfer to the Gakkentoshi Line for Suminodō. The market is directly across from the station’s South Exit.
Subways: Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line → Kyobashi ↔ JR Gakkentoshi Line → Suminodō Station → South Exit.
This is the simplest subway approach: ride to Kyobashi, transfer from Osaka Metro to JR, then continue east to Suminodō.
Bus: Kintetsu Bus → JR Suminodō stop at the south rotary → immediately beside the venue.

Yoi Mono Ichi is the evening version of the regular daytime Mono Ichi, bringing makers, workshops, food and drinks to the park through sunset and into the evening.
The participating vendors change with each edition. The organizer normally publishes the final booth layout and lineup approximately one week before the event, so check the official website or Instagram shortly before visiting.
After the seasonal night editions finish, Mono Ichi continues as a recurring daytime market. OSAKA SCENE updates this page as new dates and lineups are announced.
ADMISSION
Admission: Free
No ticket or reservation is required to enter Mono Ichi. Browse the market freely and purchase food, drinks, crafts and other goods directly from individual vendors.
Prices vary by maker and food stall. Workshops may charge their own participation fees or have limited capacity depending on the individual creator.
There is no single market-wide ticketing system.

INFO & TIPS
Check the Lineup: Vendors change every month. The official lineup and booth map are normally posted about one week before each market.
Weather: This is an outdoor market and is generally canceled for rain or severe weather. Organizers make the go/no-go decision around midday on the day before the event; strong winds can also cause cancellation. Check the official channels before traveling if the forecast is questionable.
Parking: There is no free visitor parking at the venue. Paid parking is available around Suminodō Station, but with the market directly outside the station, public transportation is the easiest option.
Food & Drink: The lineup changes each month, so don’t assume a particular food truck, brewery or dish will be present until the current vendor list is published.
Bring Cash: Individual vendors set their own payment methods. Carrying some cash is sensible, but don’t assume the market is cash-only.
