FM802 MEET THE WORLD BEAT 2026

Osaka’s Biggest Radio Music Festival Returns

FM802’s iconic outdoor concert returns to Expo ’70 Park on May 23, 2026, with a confirmed lineup, lottery entry system, and a full afternoon of live music broadcast across Kansai.

Every spring, Osaka’s live music calendar builds toward one of its most quietly prestigious events—FM802 MEET THE WORLD BEAT 2026.

FM802 MEET THE WORLD BEAT 2026 returns to Osaka on May 23, 2026, transforming the lawns of Expo ’70 Commemorative Park into one of Kansai’s best-known outdoor radio music events. Organized by FM802, the long-running annual festival blends major Japanese artists, emerging performers, and open-air spring atmosphere into a full-day live music gathering that has become a seasonal tradition for Osaka music fans.

The 2026 edition takes place at Momijigawa Shibafu Hiroba inside the park’s Natural and Cultural Gardens area, with performances running from noon into the evening. Unlike sprawling multi-day camping festivals, MEET THE WORLD BEAT keeps its focus compact and accessible: a single-day event built around carefully selected artists, broad audience appeal, and the relaxed feeling of spending an entire day outdoors listening to live music under the trees.

This year’s lineup includes アイナ・ジ・エンド, Omoinotake, Saucy Dog, sumika, Vaundy, and 緑黄色社会, bringing together some of Japan’s biggest current acts for FM802’s annual spring music celebration beneath the Tower of the Sun. From singalong rock anthems to emotional pop performances, the event once again transforms Banpaku into one of Kansai’s defining outdoor music experiences of the season.

Part of the appeal is the venue itself. Momijigawa Shibafu Hiroba sits within the wide green spaces of Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, allowing the event to feel more relaxed and family-friendly than many urban live-house concerts or tightly packed city festivals. Visitors spread picnic sheets across the lawn, move between food areas and merchandise booths, and settle in for an all-day experience that feels somewhere between radio showcase, outdoor concert, and spring social gathering.

Admission to FM802 MEET THE WORLD BEAT 2026 is free through an advance invitation lottery system organized by FM802. Unlike a standard ticketed music festival, entry is distributed through listener campaigns and partner promotions announced by FM802 ahead of the event. Visitors without advance entry invitations will not be able to enter the concert area on the day of the festival.

For Osaka, FM802 MEET THE WORLD BEAT occupies a unique position on the spring calendar. It is large enough to attract nationally recognized artists and thousands of attendees, yet still retains the approachable atmosphere of a regional music event closely tied to Kansai radio culture. On a sunny May afternoon inside Expo Park, the combination of live music, open lawns, and relaxed crowds creates one of the city’s most recognizable early-summer festival traditions.

INFO & TIPS

Policies & Tips

FM802 MEET THE WORLD BEAT takes place entirely outdoors at Momijigawa Shibafu Hiroba inside Expo ’70 Commemorative Park’s Natural and Cultural Gardens area.

Visitors should prepare for:

  • strong sun exposure
  • changing temperatures
  • possible rain conditions
  • extended periods on grass and lawn surfaces

Many attendees bring:

  • picnic sheets
  • portable cushions
  • hats
  • sunscreen
  • lightweight rain gear

The festival atmosphere is generally relaxed and park-like compared to tightly packed urban live-house concerts.

The Feelin’ Area especially functions as a more casual lawn-style viewing zone where groups often spend the entire afternoon relaxing between performances.

Official event towels are a major part of Japanese outdoor festival culture and are commonly waved or worn during performances throughout the day.

Food, drinks, and festival merchandise are expected to be available onsite, though lines may become busy during peak afternoon hours.

Because the event takes place inside Expo Park, visitors often combine the festival with:

  • walks through the park grounds
  • visits to the Tower of the Sun area
  • nearby cafés and facilities around Banpaku-kinen-koen

The area around Banpaku-kinen-koen Station can become extremely crowded before opening time and immediately after the festival ends.

Arriving early is strongly recommended, especially for visitors unfamiliar with Expo Park access routes.

Artist timetable details and additional operational guidance are expected closer to the event date through official FM802 channels.
