Kinki Philharmonic Wind Orchestra

A Whisker of Autumn Magic in Higashi-Osaka

Celebrate the season with a charming free concert featuring Gershwin, Totoro, and dancing cats, brought to life by the talented Kinki Philharmonic Wind Orchestra.

The Kinki Philharmonic Wind Orchestra invites audiences to a delightful afternoon of music at their 20th Autumn Concert. Held on Sunday, October 19, 2025.  This annual performance has become a beloved local tradition, blending high-quality orchestral music with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

This year’s program is a whimsical mix of classical favorites and playful storytelling. The concert opens with the lively “Blue Tango / Dancing Cats,” setting a lighthearted tone. Piano fans won’t want to miss Hikari Nishikawa’s solo performance in George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, a jazz-inflected masterpiece that always captivates audiences. Rounding out the program is a special orchestral adaptation of My Neighbor Totoro, sure to enchant both children and adults with its nostalgic melodies.

The concert takes place in the spacious Grand Hall of the Higashi-Osaka City Cultural Creation Hall, known for its excellent acoustics and modern facilities. Conveniently located and easily accessible by train, the venue is a cultural hub for music lovers in the Kansai region.

Best of all, admission is completely free. Whether you’re a classical music enthusiast, a parent looking for a family outing, or simply someone who wants to soak in the autumn spirit, this concert offers a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Arrive early to secure good seats—no reservations are required—and enjoy the harmonious blend of music, community, and the vibrant colors of fall.
