Ibaraki Bakuon Craft Beer & Rock Fest

Craft Beer, Live Rock and Local Flavors

Craft beer flows, live rock pulses, and local eats delight—cheers to Ibaraki Bakuon Fest, where fall weekends come alive! 20 breweries, nearly 150 beers on tap, and Ibaraki’s best food under one sky—kick off autumn with a two-day festival of 'Grain, Sound and Food.'

Since its debut in 2012, Ibaraki Bakuon Fest has grown into one of North Osaka’s most anticipated autumn celebrations. Returning for its 12th edition on October 3–4, 2026, the festival transforms Ibaraki City Central Park into a two-day gathering built around three simple ideas: Beer, Sound, and Food.

Bakuon treats craft beer as part of a larger outdoor festival experience. Twenty breweries from across Japan will pour fresh draft beer throughout the weekend while live rock performances echo across the park and local food vendors serve everything from festival favorites to beer-friendly specialties. This year’s brewery roster includes respected names such as Minoh Beer, Ise Kadoya Brewery, T.Y. Harbor Brewery, Baeren Brewery, Nagahama Roman Beer, and Minami Shinshu Beer, giving visitors the chance to sample some of Japan’s most established craft producers alongside newer discoveries.

Visitors spend the day moving between brewery tents, concert stages, and food stalls beneath the autumn sky. Families spread out on the grass, music fans gather near the stage, and craft beer enthusiasts work their way through brewery offerings from across the country. As the afternoon rolls into evening, the energy shifts toward the music lineup, with Saturday’s PLAY ROCK!! and Sunday’s headlining performance by PUNISH anchoring a weekend of eight live rock acts.

The festival’s name itself reflects that identity. “Bakuon” combines the characters for grain and sound, representing the equal importance of beer and music within the event. More than a craft beer festival, it has become an annual autumn party where breweries, bands, food vendors, and visitors come together to celebrate the arrival of the season.

Whether you’re chasing new brewery discoveries, spending the afternoon with friends, or simply looking for one of the liveliest outdoor weekends on Osaka’s autumn calendar, Ibaraki Bakuon Fest continues to offer one of the region’s most distinctive festival experiences.

20 Breweries, One Weekend — Craft beer from across Japan poured fresh in the heart of Ibaraki.

Beer • Sound • Food — Three equal pillars define the Bakuon experience.

Rock Under The Autumn Sky — Live performances keep the festival energy moving from afternoon into evening.

Local Flavors On Every Corner — Food vendors and brewery pairings spread throughout the park.

A True Autumn Party — Part beer festival, part outdoor concert, part community celebration.

THE EXPERIENCE

Part craft beer festival, part outdoor concert, and part community celebration, Ibaraki Bakuon Fest delivers a different experience from most events on Osaka’s beer calendar.

  • Sample fresh craft beer from 20 breweries across Japan.
  • Enjoy live rock performances throughout both festival days.
  • Explore food vendors serving everything from beer-friendly specialties to family favorites.
  • Relax in the open park setting with plenty of space to gather with friends and family.
  • Experience the festival’s signature Beer • Sound • Food atmosphere beneath the autumn sky.

Rather than focusing solely on beer tasting, Bakuon encourages visitors to spend the day moving between brewery tents, food stalls, and music stages. It’s one of the few Kansai festivals where the soundtrack matters almost as much as what’s being poured into your glass.

INFO & TIPS

Part craft beer festival, part outdoor concert, and part community celebration, Ibaraki Bakuon Fest delivers a different experience from most events on Osaka’s beer calendar.

  • Sample craft beer from 20 breweries representing some of Japan’s best-known and emerging independent producers.
  • Catch eight live rock acts across two days, including Saturday’s PLAY ROCK!! special stage and Sunday’s headline performance by PUNISH.
  • Explore 24 food vendors serving everything from beer-friendly specialties to family favorites.
  • Relax in the open park setting with lawns, seating areas, and plenty of room to spend the entire day outdoors.
  • Experience the festival’s signature Beer • Sound • Food atmosphere as music, food, and craft beer come together beneath the autumn sky.

Unlike many beer festivals where visitors focus primarily on brewery hopping, Bakuon encourages people to settle in and stay awhile. It’s one of the few Kansai events where the live music is every bit as important as what’s being poured, creating an atmosphere that feels closer to an autumn party than a traditional tasting event.
