Ghosts, Games and Candy at Nagai Park
Costumes, candy and a few friendly ghosts are coming to Nagai Park. The free NAGAI Halloween Party returns October 10 with trick-or-treating, games, crafts, food and plenty of reasons for kids to dress up.
Halloween arrives early at Nagai Park this October, and the ghosts are bringing candy.
NAGAI Halloween Party returns Saturday, October 10, filling the park’s Central Square with costumed kids, games, workshops, food and family-friendly Halloween fun. Now in its third year, the free event runs from 10:00–16:00, giving families an entire afternoon to dress up, play and collect a few treats along the way.
The day’s biggest mission is simple: find the ghosts. Costumed characters will roam the event, and children who approach them with the secret phrase may walk away with a sweet reward. Kids are encouraged to come dressed for Halloween too — previous editions have drawn plenty of young witches, ghosts and other characters, turning the park itself into an informal costume show. This year’s program includes three Halloween games — ring toss, bowling and Halloween toss — plus candy-bag making, handprint art and seasonal craft workshops.
Festival stalls give families somewhere to refuel between activities, while a dance area adds music and movement to the party. Previous editions have offered casual festival food and drinks, with this year’s lineup still to be announced. There’s also a photo giveaway, fallen-leaf art contest and a few wonderfully odd-sounding attractions involving ghosts. Some workshops and activities carry an additional fee.
The party has quickly become an annual Nagai Park tradition. The first edition was held in 2024, followed by a second in 2025 that expanded the mix of trick-or-treating, games and workshops. 2026 marks year three, establishing the event as a recurring early-October fixture at one of Osaka’s largest parks.
Nagai Park itself gives the party room to breathe. The 66-hectare park is home to Yanmar Stadium Nagai, Nagai Botanical Garden and the Osaka Museum of Natural History, with broad lawns and open spaces that make it particularly well suited to a daytime family festival.
And unlike Halloween events that don’t really get started until after dark, this one belongs to the daytime crowd. Put on a costume, hunt down a ghost, grab some candy, make something spooky and still be home well before nightfall.

Costumes are encouraged but not required. Previous editions have drawn plenty of dressed-up children, although there is no announced costume parade for 2026.
The Halloween games stop accepting participants at 15:30, 30 minutes before the event ends.
Some workshops and attractions carry an additional fee, so bringing a little cash is a good idea.
For parents planning around lunch, festival stalls are planned for 2026, and previous editions have sold casual food and drinks. The exact 2026 offerings have not yet been announced.
Nagai Park is large — 66.3 hectares — and Central Square is inside the park rather than directly at Nagai Station, so don’t treat the station arrival time as your event arrival time.
Coin lockers are available near the southwest entrance, immediately after Metro Nagai Station Exit 3.
