Craft Beer Holiday 2026

As the summer heat gives way to cooler evenings, Craft Beer Holiday has traditionally transformed Osaka Castle Park into one of the city’s largest open-air drinking weekends. Held directly outside JR Osaka Castle Park Station, the multi-day festival brings together breweries from across Japan for a long autumn weekend built around wandering, sampling, eating, and slowly settling into the season.

While full 2026 details have not yet been announced, previous editions have typically taken place during the October holiday weekend at Osaka Castle Park Station Square.

Unlike more structured tasting events, Craft Beer Holiday thrives on movement and atmosphere. Visitors drift freely between brewery booths, regroup on the grass with friends, return for second pours, and spend entire afternoons moving casually between beer, food, music, and conversation. The open layout of Osaka Castle Park gives the festival a noticeably more relaxed rhythm than many indoor beer events, with groups spreading out across benches, standing tables, and lawn areas beneath the autumn sky.

The 2025 edition featured 20 breweries from around Japan, including well-known names such as ISEKADO, Ushitora Brewery, Shiga Kogen Beer, Yohobrewing, North Island Beer, and Osaka-area favorites alongside newer breweries appearing at the event for the first time. Limited releases, seasonal beers, and brewery specialties were poured throughout the weekend, giving visitors the chance to sample a broad cross-section of Japan’s modern craft beer scene in a single location.

Food remains a major part of the atmosphere as well. Visitors move between brewery pours and food stalls serving festival staples, comfort dishes, and beer-focused pairings designed for long afternoons outdoors. Music performances, workshops, stamp rallies, and casual seating throughout the park help give the event a welcoming, all-day energy rather than the feel of a quick tasting session.

The format itself reinforces that accessibility. Admission has historically been free, with visitors purchasing shared-use food and drink tickets on site. Beer is typically served in reusable plastic cups, with the festival encouraging guests to wash and reuse cups throughout the weekend as part of its environmental approach. Families, casual drinkers, longtime craft beer fans, and first-time visitors all mix naturally across the grounds.

Part of what makes Craft Beer Holiday so distinctive is its location. With JR Osaka Castle Park Station sitting directly beside the venue, the event becomes incredibly easy to drop into for an hour or spend an entire day exploring. Visitors often arrive in stages throughout the afternoon, turning the festival into something closer to a citywide autumn hangout than a traditional beer event.
