Mai Hanabi Lights Up the Osaka Coastline

A massive beachside fireworks spectacle returns to Osaka Bay with coastal summer energy.

One of Osaka’s most visually dramatic modern fireworks events returns to SENNAN LONG PARK on August 22, 2026 as SBI Mai Hanabi transforms the southern Osaka coastline into a huge seaside entertainment production of synchronized fireworks, music, food trucks, beach atmosphere, and panoramic night skies beside Kansai International Airport.

As the sun begins setting across Osaka Bay and planes descend toward Kansai International Airport beyond the horizon, the coastline around SENNAN LONG PARK once again prepares for one of the region’s most ambitious modern fireworks entertainment events. SBI Mai Hanabi in Osaka Sennan returns on August 22, 2026, bringing synchronized fireworks, music, lighting effects, food trucks, seaside atmosphere, and huge panoramic waterfront views back to the southern edge of Osaka Prefecture.

Held beside Tarui Southern Beach in Sennan, the event represents the next evolution of the long-running Senshu Yume Fireworks series, which organizers say spent ten years building a following throughout the Senshu region before being reborn under the new SBI Mai Hanabi brand in 2026. That transition matters to the identity of the event. This is a large-scale produced fireworks entertainment experience built specifically around sound, lighting, waterfront staging, and controlled viewing environments.

The location itself is a major part of the experience. Official event materials repeatedly emphasize the open coastal panorama surrounding SENNAN LONG PARK and neighboring Tarui Southern Beach, an area known for sunset views and direct sightlines toward Kansai International Airport across the water. As evening arrives, the atmosphere shifts from beachside leisure into full-scale nighttime production, with fireworks launched over the bay in synchronization with music and lighting effects designed to be viewed from the front-facing paid seating areas.

Unlike Osaka’s older riverbank fireworks traditions where crowds spread freely across large public viewing zones, SBI Mai Hanabi operates more like a ticketed outdoor entertainment show. The event is designed to be experienced from the official paid viewing areas and that side or rear viewing is restricted in order to preserve the intended visual and audio presentation. That approach creates a very different atmosphere from Yodogawa or Tenjin Matsuri. Here, the focus is not wandering riverbanks or neighborhood festival culture, but carefully staged viewing, premium seating experiences, and immersive production spectacle.

The scale of the seating operation reflects that identity. Premium viewing options range from front-row VIP sofa packages with dedicated drink areas and private facilities to pair seating, elevated viewing sections, camera platforms, wheelchair-accessible areas, and large general seating zones spread across the waterfront. Food trucks, street performances, and ennichi-style attractions begin long before the fireworks themselves, transforming the park into a full afternoon-and-evening summer event rather than a simple one-hour launch program.

Recent editions have drawn crowds approaching 100,000 visitors, making this one of the largest active coastal fireworks events in the Osaka region. Yet despite the scale, the atmosphere remains distinct from central Osaka’s dense urban fireworks nights. Instead of bridges, office towers, and packed riverbanks, SBI Mai Hanabi is defined by sea breeze, open skies, beach light, sunset colors, aircraft crossing the horizon, and fireworks exploding across one of the widest waterfront panoramas in Kansai.

Fireworks Over The Beach – Massive synchronized fireworks explode above Osaka Bay beside Tarui Southern Beach and SENNAN LONG PARK.

The Rebirth Of Senshu Yume Hanabi – The long-running 泉州夢花火 series officially returns in 2026 under the new SBI Mai Hanabi brand.

A Coastal Entertainment Production – Music, lighting, staging, and controlled viewing areas create a modern large-scale fireworks experience.

Sunset Into Nightfall – The event begins hours before the fireworks with beach atmosphere, food trucks, and evening coastal views.

VIP Sofas To Camera Platforms – Viewing options range from luxury sofa seating to dedicated photography zones and casual leisure-sheet areas.

Kansai Airport Across The Water – Aircraft descending toward Kansai International Airport become part of the visual backdrop throughout the evening.
