The World of Little Dinosaurs

Reptiles Fever 2026 brings you nature’s strangest creatures.

Snakes, geckos, turtles, frogs, exotic animals, and even unusual plants take over ATC Hall this July as Reptiles Fever returns to Osaka Bay with one of Kansai’s most unusual and family-friendly wildlife events.

Most visitors heading to Osaka Bay expect to find shopping, waterfront views, family attractions, and seasonal events. Reptiles Fever 2026 offers something entirely different. Inside ATC Hall, visitors will come face-to-face with snakes, geckos, turtles, frogs, insects, and other unusual creatures gathered from across Japan for one of western Japan’s longest-running exotic animal events. Organized with the support of TV Osaka, the event transforms the exhibition hall into a fascinating world of scales, colors, patterns, and wildlife rarely seen up close.

Although reptiles remain the stars of the show, the event extends far beyond snakes and lizards. Organizers welcome exhibitors specializing in amphibians, insects, birds of prey, exotic mammals, animal supplies, terrarium equipment, related services, and wildlife-themed merchandise. The result is an experience that feels part exhibition, part marketplace, and part educational event, attracting everyone from serious hobbyists to families simply looking for a memorable day out.

One of the event’s biggest strengths is its accessibility to newcomers. Visitors do not need any prior knowledge of reptiles or exotic animals to enjoy the experience. Moving through the exhibition hall becomes a journey of discovery as each booth reveals creatures with striking colors, unusual features, and behaviors that many people have only seen in books, documentaries, or online videos. Even those with no intention of owning a reptile often find themselves stopping for photographs and lingering longer than expected.

Families are a major part of the audience. For many children, Reptiles Fever provides a rare opportunity to observe unusual animals at close range and learn more about the natural world. Interactive displays and animal encounter opportunities have become part of the event’s appeal, helping transform curiosity into a hands-on educational experience. Whether it’s a brightly colored gecko, an impressive snake, or a species visitors have never encountered before, there is no shortage of creatures capable of sparking conversation long after the visit ends.

New for 2026 is the debut of Hentai Shokubutsu Club, a plant-focused event inspired by TV Osaka’s cult-favorite botanical program. Included within Reptiles Fever, the festival will introduce visitors to unusual and collectible plants through a curated marketplace featuring specialist growers and plant enthusiasts. The addition expands the event beyond animals alone, creating an even broader celebration of unusual forms of life and collecting culture.

The venue itself adds to the experience. Located within the ATC complex on Osaka’s waterfront, the event pairs easily with a day exploring the Bay Area. Visitors can combine Reptiles Fever with shopping, dining, waterfront walks, or nearby attractions, making it an easy addition to a summer itinerary. Whether you’re fascinated by reptiles, searching for a family outing, interested in unusual plants, or simply looking for something completely different from Osaka’s typical festival calendar, Reptiles Fever 2026 offers one of the city’s most distinctive summer experiences.

With roots stretching back nearly two decades and a reputation that continues to attract exhibitors and visitors from across Japan, Reptiles Fever remains one of Osaka’s most unusual annual gatherings—a place where curiosity is rewarded and every aisle offers the possibility of discovering something unexpected.
