Osaka’s Giant Music Festival Continues
OSAKA GIGANTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL celebrates its anniversary across four summer days. The Second weekend again brings together many of Japan’s biggest artists for an unforgettable weekend of live music, festival food, and waterfront atmosphere at Maishima Sports Island.
Every summer, thousands of music fans make the journey to Osaka’s waterfront for one of Japan’s biggest outdoor music festivals. Better known simply as Jaiga, the OSAKA GIGANTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL has grown into one of Kansai’s signature live music events, bringing together established stars, rising artists, and passionate fans for a celebration that captures the energy of Japan’s contemporary music scene. Marking its 10th anniversary in 2026, the festival returns bigger than ever with four days of performances across two weekends.

The second week of this year’s festival takes place August 1–2 at the specially constructed JAIGA venue on Maishima Sports Island. Gates open at 9:30 AM, with performances beginning at 11:00 AM each day. The 2026 lineup spans J-pop, rock, indie, hip-hop, singer-songwriters, and idol groups, featuring artists including ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, Creepy Nuts, Novelbright, Yuuri, Da-iCE, BAND-MAID, Little Glee Monster, Omoinotake, FRUITS ZIPPER, Juice=Juice, coldrain, Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas, PassCode, Hump Back, sumika, HEY-SMITH, ROTTENGRAFFTY, yama, MAZZEL, and dozens more. As one of the festival’s biggest editions to date, the anniversary celebration showcases both household names and emerging talent across multiple stages.

Jaiga is more than a concert—it’s a full-day festival experience. Fans move between stages discovering new artists, relaxing with festival food and cold drinks, browsing official merchandise, and soaking in the atmosphere that has made the event a summer tradition for music lovers across western Japan. The official festival app makes it easy to build a personal timetable, navigate the venue, browse merchandise, and keep track of performances throughout the day.
Unlike festivals that focus primarily on international acts, Jaiga celebrates the depth and diversity of Japan’s own music scene. For overseas visitors, it offers one of the best opportunities to experience contemporary Japanese music in a single weekend, introducing audiences to artists across every major genre while showcasing the creativity that continues to define the country’s live music culture.
Whether you’re following your favourite headliner, discovering a new band between stages, or simply enjoying the festival atmosphere beneath Osaka’s summer sky, Jaiga delivers an experience that extends far beyond the music itself. As the festival celebrates its tenth anniversary, it continues to prove why it has become one of the highlights of Japan’s summer festival calendar.

THE EXPERIENCE
Jaiga is designed as an all-day summer festival rather than simply a series of concerts. From the moment the gates open, fans spread across four stages, moving between performances, festival food stalls, merchandise booths, shaded rest areas, and waterfront gathering spaces. Whether you arrive to see a favourite headliner or discover your next favourite band, the atmosphere rewards wandering as much as planning.
- Four stages featuring more than 100 artists across four festival days.
- One of Japan’s strongest lineups of J-pop, rock, indie, hip-hop, singer-songwriters, and idol groups.
- A wide selection of festival food, cold drinks, and craft beverages available throughout the venue.
- Official merchandise booths offering exclusive 10th Anniversary Jaiga goods.
- Large outdoor spaces with views of Osaka Bay create a relaxed festival atmosphere between performances.
- The official JAIGA app helps you build a personal timetable, navigate the venue, locate food and merchandise, and receive live festival updates.
- Expect a full day on your feet—comfortable shoes, sun protection, and regular hydration are highly recommended during Osaka’s summer heat.
Whether you’re singing along with thousands of fans beneath the evening sky or discovering a new artist on a smaller stage, Jaiga delivers the kind of unforgettable summer festival experience that has made it one of Japan’s premier outdoor music events.
INFO & TIPS
Jaiga is one of Japan’s largest outdoor summer music festivals, and a little preparation will help you make the most of your day.
- Download the official JAIGA app before you arrive to create your personal timetable, receive live updates, navigate the venue, and browse food, merchandise, and maps.
- Arrive early if you want to secure a good viewing position for headline performances or avoid peak shuttle bus queues.
- Osaka summers are hot and humid. Wear light clothing, comfortable footwear, a hat, and sunscreen, and stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Official water stations, food vendors, rest areas, and toilet facilities are available throughout the festival grounds.
- Cashless payment is accepted at many vendors, but carrying some cash is recommended for convenience.
- Bring a portable phone charger—between the festival app, photos, and videos, batteries drain quickly during a full day outdoors.
- Large bags and prohibited items are subject to security inspection at the entrance. Check the official website before arriving for the latest admission policies.
- Weather conditions may affect performances. Unless safety concerns require otherwise, the festival proceeds rain or shine.
