HANASAKA Sports Festa Opens the Stadium

A rare day of hands-on sports inside Nagai’s stadiums

A free, family-friendly sports festival at Nagai Park on April 18 opens up stadium spaces for hands-on activities including soccer, baseball, athletics, and more.

Nagai Park shifts from a place to watch sports into a place to try them on April 18, as the HANASAKA Sports Festa brings a full day of hands-on activities across one of Osaka’s most recognizable athletic complexes. Centered around Yanmar Stadium Nagai and the newly branded Yanmar Hanasaka Stadium Nagai, the event is designed for participation, not spectating.

The festival is tied to the introduction of the “HANASAKA” concept—Yanmar’s philosophy of supporting potential and encouraging challenge. The event translates that idea into something physical. Visitors are invited to move through multiple activity zones and take part in sports experiences at their own pace.

Activities take place inside the stadium facilities themselves, including track and field areas and the baseball stadium. That opens up spaces most visitors only ever see from the stands, turning them into environments you can actually step into and use in a guided, hands-on way.

The program is structured around multiple sports. Visitors can try soccer activities connected to Cerezo Osaka, take part in track and field experiences, join baseball-themed activities, and explore accessible sports like boccia. These are organized as individual stations, allowing you to move between them freely throughout the day.

The event is clearly designed with families in mind. The tone and structure prioritize accessibility—no experience required, no equipment needed, and plenty of opportunities for children and beginners to participate.   For anyone looking to get active, try something new, or simply experience Nagai’s stadiums in a different way, this is a rare opportunity to engage with the city’s sports infrastructure from the inside.

Between food festivals and seasonal outings, HANASAKA Sports Festa offers something more active, more interactive, and more community-driven. It’s less about watching something happen and more about being part of it.

Step inside the stadium – Step into Nagai’s track-and-field and baseball stadium facilities for hands-on activities.

Try multiple sports – Soccer, athletics, baseball, and accessible sports like boccia are all part of the program.

Move at your own pace – Drop-in activity zones let you explore freely without a fixed schedule.

Family-ready design – Beginner-friendly activities make this easy for kids and first-time participants.

Free entry, open format –No ticket required, with many activities available throughout the day.
