GALAXY PARK 2026 – A Full-Day Indie Rock

A lineup that brings Japan’s biggest acts together in one place

Osaka’s indie heavyweights run a perfectly timed festival takeover Teaser: A tightly scheduled two-stage festival featuring KANA-BOON, 04 Limited Sazabys, Frederic, and more unfolds across Expo ’70 Park this May.

Set against the open lawns of Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, GALAXY PARK 2026 arrives on May 24 with a format that feels refreshingly intentional: two stages, nine acts, and a timetable that keeps the music moving from early afternoon through sunset. Hosted by Osaka’s own Humbreaders, the event blends major-name draw acts with rising artists, all mapped into a schedule that minimizes overlap confusion and maximizes flow.

Almost all of the artists are the kind you normally have to chase individually across tours, sold-out live houses, or separate festival appearances.  KANA-BOON have long since crossed into mainstream recognition, with a catalog that reaches far beyond the indie scene and into global audiences through anime and major festival circuits. 04 Limited Sazabys are a different kind of force — relentless live performers whose sets are built for crowd movement, the kind of band people plan entire festival days around.

Then there’s フレデリック (Frederic), whose instantly recognizable sound has made them one of the most distinctive live acts in Japan, and PEOPLE 1, a newer name but one that’s rising fast — the kind of band that’s shifting from “discovery” to “must-see” in real time.

And that’s what makes this lineup compelling — it’s a snapshot of different generations of Japan’s indie and alternative scene, all converging at once. From established festival anchors to newer acts building serious momentum.  Instead of forcing you to choose between overlapping sets, the two-stage format moves like a relay — one act hands off to the next. You’re not sacrificing half the lineup to conflicts. You’re actually able to experience the full arc of the day, from the opening surge to the closing set.

And that matters. Because when a lineup is this strong, missing half of it defeats the point.

Set outdoors at Expo ’70 Park, the environment adds another layer. This isn’t a crowded indoor venue or a late-night club run — it’s a full-day experience under open sky, where you can move between stages, reset between sets, and settle into the rhythm of the event rather than endure it.

By the time Humbreaders take the stage to close — not just as performers, but as hosts — the day feels complete, rooted in Osaka, showcasing artists who define the current moment of Japan’s live music scene.

If you’re deciding how to spend a full day in Osaka this spring, this is the kind of event that justifies it — not because it’s big, but because it’s rare to see this level of lineup, this efficiently delivered, in one place.

Scene Highlights

Two Stage Flow – Alternating stages mean you can realistically see almost every act.

Big Name Opening Shot – KANA-BOON kicks things off at 13:00, setting the tone immediately.

Peak-Time Power Run – Frederic → cinema staff → 04 Limited Sazabys is a stacked late-afternoon stretch.

Host-Led Finale – Humbreaders close their own festival at 19:00.

Front vs Chill Zones – Standing pit energy up front, relaxed sheet area in the rear.
