Six Days of Food and Live Music at Expo ’70
A six-day food and music festival fills Expo ’70 Park with live performances, international flavors, and open-air energy during Golden Week.

Golden Week at Expo ’70 Commemorative Park unfolds as one of Osaka’s most expansive open-air events as Bakushoku Festival 2026 takes over the Festival Plaza from May 1 to May 6. Running daily from 9:30 to 17:00, the event brings together food, drink, music, and market culture into a single walkable space designed for exploration rather than structure.
The layout deliberately avoids grouping vendors by country. Instead, food, goods, and beer are presented side by side, encouraging visitors to move freely and discover what draws their attention. It’s an approach built around wandering — the kind where you turn a corner and suddenly find something unexpected.
More than 50 countries are represented across the food lineup, with vendors including Bharat Market serving Indian dishes, LOVE NEPAL presenting Nepali cuisine, and BLUE BANANA pairing Ugandan beer with street food. Crepe stands, fried chicken vendors, and international street food stalls sit alongside one another, creating a constantly shifting mix of flavors without clear borders.
Beyond food, the event expands into a full cultural market. Pavilion-style booths from countries such as Nepal and the Philippines sit alongside vintage record sellers, handmade crafts, and lifestyle goods. Shopping here feels less like a curated marketplace and more like a global pop-up — part bazaar, part cultural showcase.
At the center of the space is a continuously running stage program that anchors the event throughout the day. Artists including Spinna B-ILL and A Hundred Birds headline a rotating lineup that also features DJs, dance crews, and performers from across Japan and abroad. Music runs from morning into late afternoon, giving the entire plaza a steady rhythm as visitors move between food, shopping, and live performance.
Set within one of Osaka’s largest and most flexible park spaces, the Festival Plaza allows the event to breathe. There’s no fixed route, no required starting point — just an open environment where eating, browsing, and listening happen all at once.
Over six days, Bakushoku Festival becomes less about attending a single event and more about stepping into a moving, global scene — one built on discovery, chance encounters, and the simple act of walking through it.
