Nishinomaru Garden

Seasonal Beauty Inside the Castle Walls

A landscaped garden with sweeping castle views, famous for cherry blossoms and seasonal flowers, and open lawns — Nishinomaru Garden is Osaka Castle’s serene side.

Nishinomaru Garden, on the western side of Osaka Castle, offers one of the most scenic spots in the park. A full half of the grounds feature manicured lawns, in addition to ornamental trees, and carefully placed benches make it a peaceful retreat year-round and known as one of Osaka’s go-to cherry blossom hotspots.

Every spring, it comes alive with people picnicking and savoring the beauty of the over 300 sakura trees in bloom, making it a favorite for hanami picnics and seasonal illuminations.

The open lawns also host cultural events and weddings, with the castle’s main keep providing a picture-perfect backdrop.

Whether you’re strolling through seasonal flowers, attending an evening light-up, or simply relaxing with a view, Nishinomaru Garden captures Osaka Castle’s beauty in every season.
