Expo’s October Grand Finale
Osaka’s Future Takes Center Stage at Expo 2025!
Since April 13, 2025, the reclaimed island of Yumeshima has hosted the world beneath the soaring wooden canopy of the Grand Ring. Now in its final month, Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai sparkles as an emblem of innovation, culture, and community. As October unfolds, the stage is set for a grand crescendo—complete with fireworks, final exhibitions, and unforgettable farewells.
A Trajectory of Triumphs

From its launch under the inspiring theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” Expo 2025 has grown into a vibrant fusion of global pavilions (over 80 across 155 hectares), record-breaking spectacles, and cultural connections. The Grand Ring, spanning nearly 2 km and crowned the world’s largest wooden architectural structure, stands as the venue’s enduring symbol.
Ticket milestones tell a story of soaring momentum: after only 9 million advance tickets were sold before opening, visitor numbers surged to 5 million by May 26, and doubled to 10 million by mid-July. By mid‑August, organizers announced that 18 million tickets had been sold, surpassing the break-even threshold and ensuring the event’s financial success.
Pavilion Highlights & Global Flair

The Expo showcased several captivating exhibits that embodied its essence.
The UAE Pavilion, with its graceful architecture and immersive storytelling, drew over 3 million visitors. The Cartier Women’s Pavilion, a poignant fusion of art, architecture, and women’s narratives rooted in Kyoto’s aesthetics, captivated visitors. Yoichi Ochiai’s living digital-art installation, null², harmonized robotics and mirrored nature, creating a unique experience.

Beyond exhibits, the Expo also featured record-setting performances that illuminated the event. A 12,300-member marching band earned a Guinness World Record for its impressive performance. A stunning drone tree formation, featuring 2,500 drones, painted the sky with mesmerizing colors. The Global Bon Odori, with nearly 4,000 participants from 62 countries, united visitors across borders, fostering a sense of global community.
From fireworks displays and anime-food fests to Sumo showcases and Japan Day cultural parades, Yumeshima thrummed with energy and artistry, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Japan.
