LOHAS Park in Nagai

Handmade. Sustainable. Spring Energy.

Handmade goods, sustainable finds, family workshops, and an relaxed open-air energy. One of Osaka’s largest curated artisan markets returns to Nagai Park March 7–8, 2026.

Each season, LOHAS Park brings its signature mix of sustainability, craftsmanship, and community energy to Nagai Park, Saturday and Sunday March 7 & 8th, transforming the plaza into one of Osaka’s largest curated artisan markets. At its heart, LOHAS Park is a handmade lifestyle market focused on sustainable living — not a flea market, not a vintage fair, but a carefully screened gathering of makers and small producers.

LOHAS — short for “Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability” — has grown into a nationwide series built around one core idea: celebrate independent craftsmanship and environmentally conscious design. The majority of booths are run by artisans and small brands selling handmade jewelry, ceramics, leather goods, woodworking, textiles, natural skincare, eco-friendly home items, plants, and small-batch foods. Vendors are curated, and the emphasis is firmly on originality and responsible production.

That’s what sets LOHAS Park apart. Visitors aren’t digging through secondhand racks — they’re meeting the creators themselves. Potters explain their glazes. Woodworkers describe their process. Natural skincare makers talk about ingredients. It’s commerce, yes — but it’s also conversation.

Of course, browsing works up an appetite. Food trucks and specialty vendors add another dimension, offering everything from gourmet street food to organic sweets and locally roasted coffee. The park setting encourages lingering — picnic blankets spread across the grass, children move between craft workshops, and friends gather for long, relaxed afternoons.

One of LOHAS Park’s strengths is its balance between market and outing. DIY workshops and kid-friendly craft stations often run throughout the day, making it easy for families to settle in for hours. The atmosphere feels intentional but never rigid — structured enough to feel curated, open enough to feel spontaneous.

For Osaka residents, it’s a seasonal ritual. For visitors, it’s an easy way to experience Kansai’s grassroots maker culture in a single afternoon, all within walking distance of the Metro. In short, LOHAS Park is one of the city’s clearest expressions of modern slow living — handmade, sustainable, and community-driven.
